And they left all the commands of יהוה  their Elohim, and made for themselves a moulded image, two calves, and made an Ashĕ


“But when you say to me, ‘We trust in יהוה  our Elohim,’ is it not He whose high places and whose altars Ḥ


He took away the high places and broke the pillars, and cut down the Ashĕ


And he walked in the way of the sovereigns of Yisra’ĕ


And he walked in the way of the house of Aḥ


And in the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, he began to seek the Elohim of his father Dawiḏ


if I have looked at the sun when it shines, or the moon moving in brightness,


“But you are those who forsake יהוה, who forget My set-apart mountain, who prepare a table for Gad, and who fill a drink offering for Meni.


“For the children of Yehuḏ


“For the laws of Omri are strictly observed, and all the works of the house of Aḥ


“Do not plant for yourself any tree as an Ashĕ


“When there is found in your midst, in any of your cities which יהוה  your Elohim is giving you, a man or a woman who does what is evil in the eyes of יהוה  your Elohim, in transgressing His covenant,


and has gone and served other mighty ones and bowed down to them, or to the sun or to the moon or to any of the host of the heavens, which I have not commanded,


lest they teach you to do according to all their abominations which they have done for their mighty ones, and you sin against יהוה  your Elohim.


and lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and shall see the sun, and the moon, and the stars – all the host of the heavens – and you be drawn away into bowing down to them and serving them, which יהוה  your Elohim has allotted to all the peoples under all the heavens.
