For I confess my crookedness; I am sorry over my sin.


A glad heart makes good a face, But by sorrow of heart the spirit is stricken.


All the days of the afflicted are evil, But gladness of heart is a continual feast.


A rejoicing heart causes good healing, But a stricken spirit dries the bones.


The spirit of a man sustains him in sickness, But who does bear a broken spirit?


Sorrow is better than laughter, for by the sadness of the face the heart becomes better.


“With weeping they shall come, and with their prayers I bring them. I shall make them walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they do not stumble. For I shall be a Father to Yisra’ĕ


while they who escape of them shall escape and be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, each for his crookedness.


And Elohim saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. And Elohim relented from the evil which He had said He would do to them, and He did not do it.


“But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and call mightily to Elohim. And let each one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.


And Elohim said to Yonah, “Have you rightly become displeased over the plant?” And he said, “I have rightly become displeased, even to death!”


“I say to you, in the same way there is joy in the presence of the messengers of Elohim over one sinner repenting.”


“But the tax collector standing at a distance would not even raise his eyes to the heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘Elohim, show favour unto me, a sinner!’


And having heard this, they were silent, and praised Elohim, saying, “Then Elohim has indeed also given to the gentiles repentance to life.”


“Repent therefore and turn back, for the blotting out of your sins, in order that times of refreshing might come from the presence of the Master,


and lest, when I come again, my Elohim should humble me among you, and I shall mourn for many who have sinned before and have not repented of the uncleanness, and whoring, and indecency which they have practised.


I now rejoice, not that you were made sad, but that you were saddened into repenting. For you were made sad according to Elohim, so that you suffered no loss from us.


For you know that afterward, when he wished to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it with tears.
