And the young woman was very lovely. And she was a companion for the sovereign, and served him, but the sovereign did not know her.


And he said, “You know that the reign was mine, and all Yisra’ĕ


“And now, as יהוה  lives, who established me and set me on the throne of Dawiḏ


“And of all my sons – for יהוה  has given me many sons – He has chosen my son Shelomoh to sit on the throne of the reign of יהוה  over Yisra’ĕ


“You still exalt yourself against My people in that you do not let them go!


Before destruction comes pride, And before a fall a haughty spirit!


Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty, And before esteem is humility.


And their land is filled with silver and gold, and there is no end to their treasures. And their land is filled with horses, and there is no end to their chariots.


“For everyone who is exalting himself shall be humbled, and he who is humbling himself shall be exalted.”


“I say to you, this man went down to his house declared right, rather than the other. For everyone who is exalting himself shall be humbled, and he who is humbling himself shall be exalted.”


“Please speak in the hearing of all the masters of Sheḵ
