And the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, because he fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, and my father David knew it not, to wit, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah.


but when the matter came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he had devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head; and that he and his sons should he hanged on the gallows.


His work is honour and majesty: And his righteousness endureth for ever.


Let burning coals fall upon them: Let them be cast into the fire; Into deep pits, that they rise not up again.


They shall utter the memory of thy great goodness, And shall sing of thy righteousness.


And my tongue shall talk of thy righteousness, And of thy praise all the day long.


Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation; And my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.


I will be glad and exult in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou Most High.


It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, And to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:


But thou, O LORD, art on high for evermore.


The LORD hath made known his salvation: His righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the nations.


The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the lowest of men.


that thou shalt be driven from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and thou shalt be made to eat grass as oxen, and shalt be wet with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee; till thou know that the Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.


And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever; for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom from generation to generation:


Howbeit the Most High dwelleth not in houses made with hands; as saith the prophet,


that the violence done to the threescore and ten sons of Jerubbaal might come, and that their blood might be laid upon Abimelech their brother, which slew them, and upon the men of Shechem, which strengthened his hands to slay his brethren.


and all the wickedness of the men of Shechem did God requite upon their heads: and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.
