And Hadarezer sent, and brought out the Syrians that were beyond the River: and they came to Helam, with Shobach the captain of the host of Hadarezer at their head.


And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, The LORD hath broken mine enemies before me, like the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.


And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And the LORD gave victory to David whithersoever he went.


David smote also Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his dominion at the River.


He slew of Edom in the Valley of Salt ten thousand, and took Sela by war, and called the name of it Joktheel, unto this day.


And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river Euphrates.


And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.


And Amaziah took courage, and led forth his people, and went to the Valley of Salt, and smote of the children of Seir ten thousand.


Hast not thou cast us off, O God? And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.


But now thou hast cast us off, and brought us to dishonour; And goest not forth with our hosts.


Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: Set me on high from them that rise up against me.


Slay them not, lest my people forget: Scatter them by thy power, and bring them down, O Lord our shield.


Hast not thou, O God, cast us off? And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.


O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? Why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?


How long, O LORD, wilt thou be angry for ever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire?


Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: And deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.


Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, Thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; Thou that sittest upon the cherubim, shine forth.


Turn us again, O God; And cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.


Turn us, O God of our salvation, And cause thine indignation toward us to cease.


Then thou spakest in vision to thy saints, And saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.


I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant;


But thou hast cast off and rejected, Thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.


A God very terrible in the council of the holy ones, And to be feared above all them that are round about him?


Return, O LORD; how long? And let it repent thee concerning thy servants.


And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again, for I have mercy upon them; and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and I will hear them.


And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines assembled themselves together at Michmash;


And he that brought the tidings answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken.
