But he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.


Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate.


For I have heard the defaming of many, Terror on every side: While they took counsel together against me, They devised to take away my life.


The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: And none of them that trust in him shall be condemned.


Like the profane mockers in feasts, They gnashed upon me with their teeth.


The wicked watcheth the righteous, And seeketh to slay him.


And the host was given over to it together with the continual burnt offering through transgression; and it cast down truth to the ground, and it did its pleasure and prospered.


And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper and do his pleasure: and he shall destroy the mighty ones and the holy people.


Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.


And from that time he sought opportunity to deliver him unto them.


and they took counsel together that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.


And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son in law a second time.
