Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.


Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, And for thy righteous word.


I opened wide my mouth, and panted; For I longed for thy commandments.


My soul breaketh for the longing That it hath unto thy judgements at all times.


Take away from me reproach and contempt; For I have kept thy testimonies.


I cleave unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame.


And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; For I have hoped in thy judgements.


I know, O LORD, that thy judgements are righteous, And that in faithfulness thou hast afflicted me.


The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: The judgements of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether.


Deliver me from all my transgressions: Make me not the reproach of the foolish.


He shall send from heaven, and save me, When he that would swallow me up reproacheth; Selah God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.


Lest he that heareth it revile thee, And thine infamy turn not away.


Yea, in the way of thy judgements, O LORD, have we waited for thee; to thy name and to thy memorial is the desire of our soul.


And we know that the judgement of God is according to truth against them that practise such things.


And what great nation is there, that hath statutes and judgements so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?


Moreover he must have good testimony from them that are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.


I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, give none occasion to the adversary for reviling:


sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us.


for true and righteous are his judgements; for he hath judged the great harlot, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and he hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
