And Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, how that the king of Syria oppressed them.


From out of the populous city men groan, And the soul of the wounded crieth out: Yet God imputeth it not for folly


Which executeth judgement for the oppressed; Which giveth food to the hungry: The LORD looseth the prisoners;


Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; According to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to death;


And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;


that made the world as a wilderness, and overthrew the cities thereof; that let not loose his prisoners to their home?


Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the ground which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.
