My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?


Hide not thy face from me; Put not thy servant away in anger: Thou hast been my help; Cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.


O thou hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in the time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a sojourner in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?


LORD, why castest thou off my soul? Why hidest thou thy face from me?


God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.


Wherefore hidest thou thy face, And forgettest our affliction and our oppression?


Thou, LORD, of thy favour hadst made my mountain to stand strong: Thou didst hide thy face; I was troubled.


Wherefore hidest thou thy face, And holdest me for thine enemy?


When he giveth quietness, who then can condemn? And when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? Whether it be done unto a nation, or unto a man, alike:


On the left hand, when he doth work, but I cannot behold him: He hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him.


For our soul is bowed down to the dust: Our belly cleaveth unto the earth.


Why shouldest thou be as a man astonied, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.
