Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And call not upon the LORD.


A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: But the soul of the treacherous shall eat violence.


Bread of falsehood is sweet to a man; But afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.


Stolen waters are sweet, And bread eaten in secret is pleasant.


Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:


Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!


Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will go about with slanders.


Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people to err; that bite with their teeth and cry, Peace; and whoso putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him:


For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.


Their hands are upon that which is evil to do it diligently; the prince asketh, and the judge is ready for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth the mischief of his soul: thus they weave it together.


Her princes in the midst of her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they leave nothing till the morrow.


But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter.
