Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, Neither desire thou his dainties:


And the king appointed for them a daily portion of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank, and that they should be nourished three years; that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.


But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.


But take heed to yourselves, lest haply your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come on you suddenly as a snare:


that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, which waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit;
