And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou:


His enemies will I clothe with shame: But upon himself shall his crown flourish.


I also will laugh in the day of your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;


The wicked are overthrown, and are not: But the house of the righteous shall stand.


Better is he that is lightly esteemed, and hath a servant, Than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.


An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous: And he that is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.


The wise shall inherit glory; But shame shall be the promotion of fools.


He shall die for lack of instruction; And in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.


Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? A man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the hardness of his face is changed.


The LORD hath mingled a spirit of perverseness in the midst of her: and they have caused Egypt to go astray in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.


And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.


And his lord commended the unrighteous steward because he had done wisely: for the sons of this world are for their own generation wiser than the sons of the light.


And immediately an angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.


Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God.


For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.


And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.

Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.


Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his house: for he is such a son of Belial, that one cannot speak to him.
