And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home, unto his city, and set his house in order, and hanged himself; and he died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father.


The steps of his strength shall be straitened, And his own counsel shall cast him down.


And these lay wait for their own blood, They lurk privily for their own lives.


The integrity of the upright shall guide them: But the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.


A man shall not be established by wickedness: But the root of the righteous shall never be moved.


Righteousness guardeth him that is upright in the way: But wickedness overthroweth the sinner.


The wicked is thrust down in his evil-doing: But the righteous hath hope in his death.


The way of the sluggard is as an hedge of thorns: But the path of the upright is made an highway.


A wicked man hardeneth his face: But as for the upright, he ordereth his ways.


Whoso walketh uprightly shall be delivered: But he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.


In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.


His own iniquities shall take the wicked, And he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.


The way of the just is uprightness: thou that art up right dost direct the path of the just.


And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore Israel and Ephraim shall stumble in their iniquity; Judah also shall stumble with them.


And the men of Israel turned, and the men of Benjamin were amazed: for they saw that evil was come upon them.
