Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into one of the pits, and we will say, An evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.


For in vain is the net spread, in the eyes of any bird:


The words of the wicked are of lying in wait for blood: But the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.


For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; And their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.


Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood;


An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, Feet that be swift in running to mischief;


Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; desolation ard destruction are in their paths.


But if our unrighteousness commendeth the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who visiteth with wrath? (I speak after the manner of men.)


And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the spear; but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he smote the spear into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.
