For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who shall put you in remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, even as I teach everywhere in every church.


and sent Timothy, our brother and God's minister in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith;


Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:


I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.


For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall both live, and do this or that.


For the which cause I suffer also these things: yet I am not ashamed; for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed unto him against that day.


We are bound to give thanks to God alway for you, brethren, even as it is meet, for that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all toward one another aboundeth;


in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation,--in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,


Timothy my fellow-worker saluteth you; and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen.

and in the same manner do ye also joy, and rejoice with me.


For this cause I also, when I could no longer forbear, sent that I might know your faith, lest by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labour should be in vain.
