Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.


And he went out, and wept bitterly.


Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.


And behold, a woman which was in the city, a sinner; and when she knew that he was sitting at meat in the Pharisee's house, she brought an alabaster cruse of ointment,


Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what manner of woman this is which touched him, that she is a sinner.


And it was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.


Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
