These things said his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man should confess him to be Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.


And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he should be born blind?

I wrote somewhat unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.


Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to serve one another: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.


among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:--


We being Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,


whereas them that are without God judgeth? Put away the wicked man from among yourselves.


Those of the Pharisees which were with him heard these things, and said unto him, Are we also blind?


Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and finding him, he said, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?


Ye do the works of your father. They said unto him, We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.


All that which the Father giveth me shall come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.


For every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.


And one of the lawyers answering saith unto him, Master, in saying this thou reproachest us also.


Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.


which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me, for I am holier than thou: these are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.


He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck Shall suddenly be broken, and that without remedy.


Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? There is more hope of a fool than of him.


Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; Yea, strife and ignominy shall cease.


Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.


And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Have we made thee of the king's counsel? forbear; why shouldest thou be smitten? Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.


And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? thinkest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely the thing is known.


Therefore, if I come, I will bring to remembrance his works which he doeth, prating against us with wicked words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and them that would he forbiddeth, and casteth them out of the church.
