But they rebelled, and grieved his holy spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.


Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.


But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.


Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost:


I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:


David himself said in the Holy Spirit, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet.


And when they lead you to judgement, and deliver you up, be not anxious beforehand what ye shall speak: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.


For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and he shall drink no wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.


And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also that which is to be born shall be called holy, the Son of God.


And it came to pass, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost;


And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,


If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?


And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was upon him.


And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high.


and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily form, as a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.


And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, he said unto me, Upon whomsoever thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and abiding upon him, the same is he that baptizeth with the Holy Spirit.


These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.


And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever,


These things have I spoken unto you, while yet abiding with you.


But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall bear witness of me:


Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I go, I will send him unto you.


When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he spake this; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.


And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:


It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught of God. Every one that hath heard from the Father, and hath learned, cometh unto me.


But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified.


until the day in which he was received up, after that he had given commandment through the Holy Ghost unto the apostles whom he had chosen:


and, being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said he, ye heard from me:


But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.


And I remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.


And as they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.


So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, went down to Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.


For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;


And God, which knoweth the heart, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;


And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden of the Holy Ghost to speak the word in Asia;


Being therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear.


And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.


Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in the which the Holy Ghost hath made you bishops, to feed the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood.


In all things I gave you an example, how that so labouring ye ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.


And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Isaiah the prophet unto your fathers,


But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thy heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?


Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.


But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,


for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.


Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Ghost.


that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus unto the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be made acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.


and hope putteth not to shame; because the love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Ghost which was given unto us.


Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking in the Spirit of God saith, Jesus is anathema; and no man can say, Jesus is Lord, but in the Holy Spirit.


Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own;


The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.


in pureness, in knowledge, in longsuffering, in kindness, in the Holy Ghost, in love unfeigned,


in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation,--in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,


that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;


And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption.


Therefore he that rejecteth, rejecteth not man, but God, who giveth his Holy Spirit unto you.


That good thing which was committed unto thee guard through the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.


not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost,


And the Holy Ghost also beareth witness to us: for after he hath said,


God also bearing witness with them, both by signs and wonders, and by manifold powers, and by gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will.


Wherefore, even as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye shall hear his voice,


the Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holy place hath not yet been made manifest, while as the first tabernacle is yet standing;


To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Ghost sent forth from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.


For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Ghost.


And ye have an anointing from the Holy One, and ye know all things.


And as for you, the anointing which ye received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any one teach you; but as his anointing teacheth you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, ye abide in him.


And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth.


But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,


He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
