In whose eyes a reprobate is despised; But he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.


But when I halted they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: The abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; They did tear me, and ceased not:


How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? And scorners delight them in scorning, And fools hate knowledge?


The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: But the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.


Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: But the correction of fools is their folly.


For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise profaneness, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.


The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead the dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.


And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.


and shall deliver him unto the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify: and the third day he shall be raised up.


And she went out, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
