that pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go unto the same maid, to profane my holy name:


The murderer riseth with the light, he killeth the poor and needy; And in the night he is as a thief.


The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery; yea, they have vexed the poor and needy, and have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.

Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, But persecuted the poor and needy man, And the broken in heart, to slay them.


Blessed is he that considereth the poor: The LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.


If I have withheld the poor from their desire, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;


Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? Was not my soul grieved for the needy?

He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: But he that hath mercy on the needy honoureth him.


Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say unto their lords, Bring, and let us drink.
