And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.


And be it indeed that I have erred, Mine error remaineth with myself.


Let them be ashamed and confounded together that rejoice at mine hurt: Let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.


For I said, Lest they rejoice over me: When my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.


By this I know that thou delightest in me, Because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.


For it was not an enemy that reproached me; Then I could have borne it: Neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; Then I would have hid myself from him:


But it was thou, a man mine equal, My companion, and my familiar friend.


And seven women shall take hold of one man in that day, saving, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name; take thou away our reproach.


Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.


This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.


The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem be not magnified above Judah.


Thus hath the Lord done unto me in the days wherein he looked upon me, to take away my reproach among men.


And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he should be born blind?


They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.


And her rival provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.
