The archers have sorely grieved him, And shot at him, and persecuted him:


His troops come on together, and cast up their way against me, And encamp round about my tent.


Whom I shall see for myself, And mine eyes shall behold, and not another. My reins are consumed within me.


He draweth it forth, and it cometh out of his body: Yea, the glittering point cometh out of his gall; Terrors are upon him.


Is there any number of his armies? And upon whom doth not his light arise?


Then should I yet have comfort; Yea, I would exult in pain that spareth not: For I have not denied the words of the Holy One.


For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, The poison whereof my spirit drinketh up: The terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.


Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the young children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.


He hath bent his bow like an enemy, he hath stood with his right hand as an adversary, and hath slain all that were pleasant to the eye: in the tent of the daughter of Zion he hath poured out his fury like fire.


He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he hath made me desolate.


He hath caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my reins.


Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, and I also will have no pity.


He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things?


the LORD will not pardon him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
