For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.


And Esther said, An adversary and an enemy, even this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.


Distress and anguish make him afraid; They prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle:


Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, And shall chase him at his heels.


He shall be rooted out of his tent wherein he trusteth; And he shall be brought to the king of terrors.


There was nothing left that he devoured not; Therefore his prosperity shall not endure.


Therefore snares are round about thee, And sudden fear troubleth thee,


For the morning is to all of them as the shadow of death; For they know the terrors of the shadow of death


Terrors overtake him like waters; A tempest stealeth him away in the night.


When the wicked spring as the grass, And when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; It is that they shall be destroyed for ever:


The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: And the desire of the righteous shall be granted.


The wicked flee when no man pursueth: But the righteous are bold as a lion.


O daughter of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation; for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.


And as for them that are left of you, I will send a faintness into their heart in the lands of their enemies: and the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as one fleeth from the sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.


Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.


When they are saying, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall in no wise escape.


They have over them as king the angel of the abyss: his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek tongue he hath the name Apollyon.
