As the LORD thy God liveth, there is no nation or kingdom, whither my lord hath not sent to seek thee: and when they said, He is not here, he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found thee not.


And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.


In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.


Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man know where ye be.


Kirjath-baal (the same is Kirjath-jearim), and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.


And the border was drawn and turned about on the west quarter southward, from the mountain that lieth before Beth-horon southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kirjath-baal (the same is Kiriath-jearim), a city of the children of Judah: this was the west quarter.


And the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kiriath-jearim.


And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kiriath-jearim, saying, The Philistines have brought again the ark of the LORD; come ye down, and fetch it up to you.


And it came to pass, from the day that the ark abode in Kiriath-jearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.
