Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.


But the wicked shall perish, And the enemies of the LORD shall be as the excellency of the pastures: They shall consume; in smoke shall they consume away.


As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: As wax melteth before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.


As the fire that burneth the forest, And as the flame that setteth the mountains on fire;


And the strong shall be as tow, and his work as a spark; and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.


Your country is desolate; your cities are burned with fire; your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.


LORD, thy hand is lifted up, yet they see not: but they shall see thy zeal for the people, and be ashamed; yea, fire shall devour thine adversaries.

but I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, his forepart into the eastern sea, and his hinder part into the western sea; and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.


A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and none hath escaped them.


Thus the Lord GODshewed me: and, behold, the Lord GODcalled to contend by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and would have eaten up the land.


And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall burn among them, and devour them: and there shall not be any remaining to the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels:


For a fire is kindled in mine anger, And burneth unto the lowest pit, And devoureth the earth with her increase, And setteth on fire the foundations of the mountains.


but if it beareth thorns and thistles, it is rejected and nigh unto a curse; whose end is to be burned.


and the smoke of their torment goeth up for ever and ever; and they have no rest day and night, they that worship the beast and his image, and whoso receiveth the mark of his name.
