And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD, the God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword: and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.


Many seek the ruler's favour: But a man's judgement cometh from the LORD.


O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things, even counsels of old, in faithfulness and truth.


Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompence of God; he will come and save you.


Behold, the Lord GODwill come as a mighty one, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his recompence before him.


Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgement is passed away from my God?


There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.


According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.


I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with a garland, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.


Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the earth, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompence before him.


I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts;


They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for calamity; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.


Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.


and your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruit.


And Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? bring him hither to me.


O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!


Behoved it not the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory?


He came unto his own, and they that were his own received him not.


But as to Israel he saith, All the day long did I spread out my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.


And I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more abundantly, am I loved the less?


For we are a sweet savour of Christ unto God, in them that are being saved, and in them that are perishing;


I am afraid of you, lest by any means I have bestowed labour upon you in vain.


holding forth the word of life; that I may have whereof to glory in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain neither labour in vain.


looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
