I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary, and I will make Jacob a curse, and Israel a reviling.


They lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea, and they ride upon horses; every one set in array, as man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.


The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand; they are knit together, they are come up upon my neck; he hath made my strength to fail: the Lord hath delivered me into their hands, against whom I am not able to stand.


They have heard that I sigh; there is none to comfort me; all mine enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that thou hast done it: thou wilt bring the day that thou hast proclaimed, and they shall be like unto me.


The Lord hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied; he hath thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he hath brought them down to the ground: he hath profaned the kingdom and the princes thereof.


The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.


Princes were hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.


Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left behind shall fall by the sword.


By the multitude of they traffic they filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore, have I cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God; and I have destroyed thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.


For the violence done to thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.


For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the nations drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and swallow down, and shall be as though they had not been.


Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?


And I am very sore displeased with the nations that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.


For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you.


a nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:


For judgement is without mercy to him that hath shewed no mercy: mercy glorieth against judgement.
