And they forsook all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made an Asherah, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.

And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall he have respect to that which his fingers have made, either the Asherim, or the sun-images.


O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us; but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.


and have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone; therefore they have destroyed them.


The graven image, a workman melted it, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth for it silver chains.


Behold, all of them, their works are vanity and nought: their molten images are wind and confusion.


ye that inflame yourselves among the oaks, under every green tree; that slay the children in the valleys, under the clefts of the rocks?


And I will utter my judgements against them touching all their wickedness; in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.


For according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to the shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.


But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.


Is Gilead iniquity? they are altogether vanity; in Gilgal they sacrifice bullocks: yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the field.


And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, even idols according to their own understanding, all of them the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.


Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.


For from Israel is even this; the workman made it, and it is no God: yea, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.


And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:
