According as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, And sow trouble, reap the same


There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.


Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.


Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery: If riches increase, set not your heart thereon.


Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, And be filled with their own devices.


The lip of truth shall be established for ever: But a lying tongue is but for a moment.


A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: But the soul of the treacherous shall eat violence.


A false witness shall not be unpunished; And he that uttereth lies shall not escape.


He that soweth iniquity shall reap calamity: And the rod of his wrath shall fail.


I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but fame and chance happeneth to them all.


In the day of thy planting thou hedgest it in, and in the morning thou makest thy seed to blossom: but the harvest fleeth away in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.


Ephraim compasseth me about with falsehood, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the Holy One.


There is nought but swearing and breaking faith, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery; they break out, and blood toucheth blood.


They feed on the sin of my people, and set their heart on their iniquity.


They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.


For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: he hath no standing corn; the blade shall yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.


After whom is the king of Israel come out? after whom dost thou pursue? after a dead dog, after a flea.
