And Paul, looking stedfastly on the council, said, Brethren, I have lived before God in all good conscience until this day.


Herein do I also exercise myself to have a conscience void of offence toward God and men alway.


Render to no man evil for evil. Take thought for things honourable in the sight of all men.


Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in revelling and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and jealousy.


Now I beseech you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;


For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.


Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honourable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.


withal praying for us also, that God may open unto us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds;


that ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and may have need of nothing.


Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as also it is with you;


But the end of the charge is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and faith unfeigned:


having your behaviour seemly among the Gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.


having a good conscience; that, wherein ye are spoken against, they may be put to shame who revile your good manner of life in Christ.


which also after a true likeness doth now save you, even baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the interrogation of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ;
