therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.


And again she bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.


and he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us for our work and for the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.


These three were the sons of Noah: and of these was the whole earth overspread.


and he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.


The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life: But violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.


He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: But he that followeth after vain persons is void of understanding.


I went by the field of the slothful, And by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;


Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field.


Look not upon me, because I am swarthy, Because the sun hath scorched me. My mother's sons were incensed against me, They made me keeper of the vineyards; But mine own vineyard have I not kept.


What soldier ever serveth at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?


And what man is there that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not used the fruit thereof? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man use the fruit thereof.


Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not use the fruit thereof.
