A wrathful man stirreth up contention: But he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.


The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: But a wise man will pacify it.


A man's gift maketh room for him, And bringeth him before great men.


A gift in secret pacifieth anger, And a present in the bosom strong wrath.


He will not regard any ransom; Neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.


Who knoweth whether God will not turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?


in meekness correcting them that oppose themselves; if peradventure God may give them repentance unto the knowledge of the truth,


Wherefore ye shall make images of your tumours, and images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give glory unto the God of Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land:
