And he said, O LORD, the God of my master Abraham, send me, I pray thee, good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.


And he said, Blessed be the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who hath not forsaken his mercy and his truth toward my master: as for me, the LORD hath led me in the way to the house of my master's brethren.

And the man increased exceedingly, and had large flocks, and maidservants and menservants, and camels and asses.


And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.


and I have oxen, and asses and flocks, and menservants ard maidservants: and I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find grace in thy sight.


Then Jacob was greatly afraid and was distressed: and he divided the people that was with him, and the flocks, and the herds, and the camels, into two companies;


Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.


Then David the king went in, and sat before the LORD; and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD and what is my house, that thou hast brought me thus far?


Yet shall the righteous hold on his way, And he that hath clean hands shall wax stronger and stronger


And though thy beginning was small, Yet thy latter end should greatly increase


I have said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: I have no good beyond thee.


Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: And thy right hand hath holden me up, And thy gentleness hath made me great.


He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare lovingkindness and truth, that they may preserve him.


For thou hast made him but little lower than God, And crownest him with glory and honour.


They go from strength to strength, Every one of them appeareth before God in Zion.


Mercy and truth are met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.


But the path of the righteous is as the shining light, That shineth more and more unto the perfect day.


Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.


I will make mention of the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us; and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.


Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.


Even so ye also, when ye shall have done all the things that are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which it was our duty to do.


But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.


I am become foolish: ye compelled me; for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing was I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I am nothing.


But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God, for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth; that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as at this day.


Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to serve one another: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.
