And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the South.


And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the South.


And they returned, and came to En-mishpat (the same is Kadesh), and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazazon-tamar.


Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.


Wherefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.


And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.

And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.


And the herdmen of Gerar strove with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they contended with him.


Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath his friend, and Phicol the captain of his host.


The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; The LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.


And Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.


And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.


and when we cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border:


And we journeyed from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which ye saw, by the way to the hill country of the Amorites, as the LORD our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh-barnea.


because ye trespassed against me in the midst of the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.


And Saul Smote the Amalekites, from Havilah as thou goest to Shur, that is before Egypt.
