and I said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our guiltiness is grown up unto the heavens.


and foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, even to give it unto his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous.


Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; Yea, our God is merciful.


Righteous art thou, O LORD, And upright are thy judgements.


If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?


And enter not into judgement with thy servant; For in thy sight shall no man living be justified.


Thou, even thou, art to be feared: And who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?


Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet would I reason the cause with thee: wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?


And thou, son of man, say unto the house of Israel: Thus ye speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we pine away in them; how then should we live?


But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one in his iniquity.


Therefore hath the LORD watched over the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth, and we have not obeyed his voice.


And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that because they have walked contrary unto me,


I also walked contrary unto them, and brought them into the land of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity;


He said therefore again unto them, I go away, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sin: whither I go, ye cannot come.


I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for except ye believe that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.


For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.


Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it speaketh to them that are under the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be brought under the judgement of God:


and if Christ hath not been raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.


And they came unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of Gilead, and they spake with them, saying,
