Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.


And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Let not the hair of your heads go loose, neither rend your clothes; that ye die not, and that he be not wroth with all the congregation: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.


neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;


He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.


But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?


And they send to him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one: for thou regardest not the person of men.


If any man cometh unto me, and hateth not his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.


Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.


For am I now persuading men, or God? or am I seeking to please men? if I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ.


but even as we have been approved of God to be intrusted with the gospel, so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God which proveth our hearts.


I charge thee in the sight of God, and Christ Jesus, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.
