He saith in his heart, I shall not be moved: To all generations I shall not be in adversity.


I have remembered thy judgements of old, O LORD, And have comforted myself.


We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, What work thou didst in their days, in the days of old.


Thou didst drive out the nations with thy hand, and plantedst them in; Thou didst afflict the peoples, and didst spread them abroad.


Is his mercy clean gone for ever? Doth his promise fail for evermore?


For he established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which he commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children:


And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?


And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:


Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me;


Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he that put his holy spirit in the midst of them?


For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and from the one end of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?


And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble thee, to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.


And Gideon said unto him, Oh my lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his wondrous works which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath cast us off, and delivered us into the hand of Midian.
