For thou hast taken pledges of thy brother for nought, And stripped the naked of their clothing.


So that they go about naked without clothing, And being an-hungred they carry the sheaves;


They drive away the ass of the fatherless, They take the widow's ox for a pledge.


They lie all night naked without clothing, And have no covering in the cold.


There are that pluck the fatherless from the breast, And take a pledge of the poor:


Thou shalt stand without, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring forth the pledge without unto thee.


thou shalt surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his garment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.


Thou shalt not wrest the judgement of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take the widow's raiment to pledge:
