It may be that the LORD will look on the wrong done unto me, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing of me this day.


because they met not the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, to curse them: howbeit our God turned the curse into a blessing.


Surely God is good to Israel, Even to such as are pure in heart.


As the sparrow in her wandering, as the swallow in her flying, So the curse that is causeless lighteth not.


The LORD appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

And the angel of the LORD said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.


And he sent messengers unto Balaam the son of Beor, to Pethor, which is by the River, to the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me:


He couched, he lay down as a lion, And as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Blessed be every one that blesseth thee, And cursed be every one that curseth thee.


As touching the gospel, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sake.


What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?


Even as it is written, Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.


For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;


as the children of Esau which dwell in Seir, and the Moabites which dwell in Ar, did unto me; until I shall pass over Jordan into the land which the LORD our God giveth us.


Yea, he loveth the peoples; All his saints are in thy hand: And they sat down at thy feet; Every one shall receive of thy words.


And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out with his presence, with his great power, out of Egypt;


but I would not hearken unto Balaam; therefore he blessed you still: so I delivered you out of his hand.
