Therefore he lifted up his hand unto them, That he would overthrow them in the wilderness:


Wherefore I sware in my wrath, That they should not enter into my rest.


Moreover also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;


Howbeit with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.


Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.


And the days in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, were thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the midst of the camp, as the LORD sware unto them.


for we are become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end:


For who, when they heard, did provoke? nay, did not all they that came out of Egypt by Moses?
