O thou my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard from the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.


For thus saith the LORD unto me, Like as when the lion growleth and the young lion over his prey, if a multitude of shepherds be called forth against him, he will not be dismayed at their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight upon mount Zion, and upon the hill thereof.


And if I say, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name, then there is in mine heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with forbearing, and I cannot contain.

And he said, The LORD shall roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the pastures of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.


But ye gave the Nazirites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.


Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?


for we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.


Go ye, and stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this Life.


But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men.


For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of; for necessity is laid upon me; for woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel.
