Now when the synagogue broke up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.


But the Jews urged on the devout women of honourable estate, and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out of their borders.


And devout men buried Stephen, and made great lamentation over him.


And straightway in the synagogues he proclaimed Jesus, that he is the Son of God.


For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,


holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof: from these also turn away.
