After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.


As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried; he is a shield unto all them that trust in him.


The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation:


And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me: thou deliverest me from the violent man.


Great deliverance giveth he to his king: and sheweth lovingkindness to his anointed, to David and to his seed, for evermore.


The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me: One that ruleth over men righteously, that ruleth in the fear of God,


Ye put to shame the counsel of the poor, Because the LORD is his refuge.


Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man; Preserve me from the violent man:


An evil speaker shall not be established in the earth: Evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.


Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; Preserve me from the violent man: Who have purposed to thrust aside my steps.


Look on my right hand, and see; for there is no man that knoweth me: Refuge hath failed me; no man careth for my soul.


My lovingkindness, and my fortress, My high tower, and my deliverer; My shield, and he in whom I trust; Who subdueth my people under me.

For in the day of trouble he shall keep me secretly in his pavilion: In the covert of his tabernacle shall he hide me; He shall lift me up upon a rock.

But I will sing of thy strength; Yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: For thou hast been my high tower, And a refuge in the day of my distress.


For thou hast been a refuge for me, A strong tower from the enemy.


I am as a wonder unto many; But thou art my strong refuge.


He shall redeem their soul from oppression and violence; And precious shall their blood be in his sight:


For the LORD God is a sun and a shield: The LORD will give grace and glory: No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.


Behold, O God our shield, And look upon the face of thine anointed.


O God, the proud are risen up against me, And the congregation of violent men have sought after my soul, And have not set thee before them.


And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee; For thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.


The LORD also will be a high tower for the oppressed, A high tower in times of trouble;


The LORD is my strength and song, And he is become my salvation: This is my God, and I will praise him; My father's God, and I will exalt him.


The name of the LORD is a strong tower: The righteous runneth into it, and is safe.


Every word of God is tried: He is a shield unto them that trust in him.


Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and song; and he is become my salvation.


And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.


Declare ye, and bring it forth; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath shewed this from ancient time? who hath declared it of old? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a saviour; there is none beside me.


O LORD, my strength, and my strong hold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, unto thee shall the nations come from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Our fathers have inherited nought but lies, even vanity and things wherein there is no profit.


For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.


And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.


And hath raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of his servant David


Salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;


And he shall say, Where are their gods, The rock in which they trusted;


The Rock, his work is perfect; For all his ways are judgement: A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, Just and right is he.


Happy art thou, O Israel: Who is like unto thee, a people saved by the LORD, The shield of thy help, And that is the sword of thy excellency! And thine enemies shall submit themselves unto thee; And thou shalt tread upon their high places.


But when the kindness of God our Saviour, and his love toward man, appeared,


which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour;


And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold, I and the children which God hath given me.


And Hannah prayed, and said: My heart exulteth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.


There is none holy as the LORD; for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
