And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he hath sinned, and wherewith he hath made Israel to sin.


But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel.


And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying,


And Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, so that they did evil more than did the nations, whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.


but they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and scoffed at his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.


Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their back, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them again unto thee, and they wrought great provocations.


The wicked walk on every side, When vileness is exalted among the sons of men.


I am the LORD thy God, Which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt: Open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.


If a ruler hearkeneth to falsehood, All his servants are wicked.


and ye shall know that I am the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither have ye executed my judgements, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you.


Yet hast thou not walked in their ways, nor done after their abominations; but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast more corrupt than they in all thy ways.


And thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord GOD A city that sheddeth blood in the midst of her, that her time may come, and that maketh idols against herself to defile her!


And she hath rebelled against my judgements in doing wickedness more than the nations, and against my statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for they have rejected my judgements, and as for my statutes, they have not walked in them.


Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD Because ye are turbulent more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my judgements, neither have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you;


neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.


Ephraim is oppressed, he is crushed in judgement; because he was content to walk after the command.


O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her own brood under her wings, and ye would not!


If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin.


To him therefore that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.


But I have this against thee, that thou sufferest the woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess; and she teacheth and seduceth my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.


But the people refused to hearken unto the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;
