And certain also of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him. And some said, What would this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached Jesus and the resurrection.


And ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:


but had certain questions against him of their own religion, and of one Jesus, who was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.


Of whom I have no certain thing to write unto my lord. Wherefore I have brought him forth before you, and specially before thee, king Agrippa, that, after examination had, I may have somewhat to write.


in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Ghost; so that from Jerusalem, and round about even unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ;


Even as it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.


But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.


I protest by that glorying in you, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.


For, I think, God hath set forth us the apostles last of all, as men doomed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.


But though I be rude in speech, yet am I not in knowledge; nay, in everything we have made it manifest among all men to you-ward.


but we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.


Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest unto God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.
