Then David the king went in, and sat before the LORD; and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD and what is my house, that thou hast brought me thus far?


And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.


He was the son of a widow woman of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass; and he was filled with wisdom and understanding and cunning, to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.


But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded!


Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all men that are cunning in any manner of work;


But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.


Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?


But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have builded!


And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?

Thus saith the LORD; The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what manner of house will ye build unto me? and what place shall be my rest?


Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.


to the one a savour from death unto death; to the other a savour from life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?


Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;


then it shall come to pass that the place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there, thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:


but in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.


Only thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou shalt take, and go unto the place which the LORD shall choose:
