7 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesieth good concerning me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, So is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.


The bloodthirsty hate him that is perfect: And as for the upright, they seek his life.


Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: Reprove a wise man, and he will love thee.


which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:


Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.


Then the princes said unto the king, Let this man, we pray thee, be put to death; forasmuch as he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.


They hate him that reproveth in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.


Shall it be said, O house of Jacob, Is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?


And straightway the king sent forth a soldier of his guard, and commanded to bring his head: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,


Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.


If I had not done among them the works which none other did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.


The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that its works are evil.


So then am I become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
