And the king stood by the pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and all his soul, to confirm the words of this covenant that were written in this book: and all the people stood to the covenant.


Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.


And after them, out of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their hearts to seek the LORD, the God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice unto the LORD, the God of their fathers.


And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land was quiet, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him rest.


For he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars; the land is yet before us, because we have sought the LORD our God; we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.


And they entered into the covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul;


And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice; and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.


and he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: the LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him he will forsake you.


But when in their distress they turned unto the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.


And they were broken in pieces, nation against nation, and city against city: for God did vex them with all adversity.


Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast put away the Asheroth out of the land, and hast set thine heart to seek God.


So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.


Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, that his fierce anger may turn away from us.


And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, because of that which God had prepared for the people: for the thing was done suddenly.


And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.


And Nehemiah, which was the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.


When he giveth quietness, who then can condemn? And when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? Whether it be done unto a nation, or unto a man, alike:


With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.


I have sworn, and have confirmed it, That I will observe thy righteous judgements.


Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever; For they are the rejoicing of my heart.


Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: And shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.


And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgements: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath spoken will we do.


Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.


Yea, in the way of thy judgements, O LORD, have we waited for thee; to thy name and to thy memorial is the desire of our soul.


I have not spoken in secret, in a place of the land of darkness; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.


For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.


and thou shalt rejoice in all the good which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is in the midst of thee.


But I am in a strait betwixt the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ; for it is very far better:


And it came to pass after many days, when the LORD had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, and Joshua was old and well stricken in years;


So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.
