For ye have heard of my manner of life in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and made havock of it:


as touching zeal, persecuting the church; as touching the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless.


howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me as chief might Jesus Christ shew forth all his longsuffering, for an ensample of them which should hereafter believe on him unto eternal life.


Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help us in time of need.


which in time past were no people, but now are the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
