13 And for this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when ye received from us the word of the message, even the word of God, ye accepted it not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also worketh in you that believe.

For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.


For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because they were not united by faith with them that heard.


Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.


having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which liveth and abideth.


But the word of the Lord abideth for ever. And this is the word of good tidings which was preached unto you.


as newborn babes, long for the spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation;


that ye should remember the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and the commandment of the Lord and Saviour through your apostles:


And every one that hath this hope set on him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
